Finally, I’m back.
Well, this took forever. I've been in the process of updating my blog for years. I'll be honest, I did have the time, but I didn't always have the passion, or I started a new side project, or I got caught up in a binge-watching session or my day job responsibilities made me too tired to turn the computer back on in the evening. I have a lot of excuses. The main one was I was struggling to find my voice again.
I'm a different person from the one that started this blog years ago. I realized too late that I didn't need to have my life categorized in order to write on MY blog. It seems silly, but it took me a little while to come to this conclusion. Once I figured that out, I realized I didn't have to rush things either. I didn't have to have my blog life planned out, but there were a few changes I wanted to make before I dove back in. I wanted to change to squarespace, which also meant that I wanted new branding and a content plan. This doesn't happen overnight. But I started the work, and I was on a roll; then I took on more responsibility at work, the holidays came up, the pandemic hit, the state of the world became my focus, oh and I was condo hunting. It became all too much, and I had to step back.
We're still in the middle of a pandemic, the state of current affairs is still my focus, I put condo hunting on hold, and I found a new job. It's been almost a year since I started working on bringing AlixRose back. It took a lot longer than I had planned, but if I've learned anything this year, is that you can't plan everything.
AlixRose has always been a way for me to connect with my community, share stories, resources, to lean into my creativity and writing.
I'm excited to be back.
